SCHOOL LIBRARY RULES

Silence is to be observed in the library and reading room. Books issued are to be properly looked after and returned on the due date.

  • All pupils of the school are members of the library.
  • A student can borrow only one book at a time.
  • A student may ordinarily keep a book for a fixed period. Books in high demand may be issued for a maximum of four days.
  • Books will be issued during the library period as per the timetable. No issue/return during teaching hours.
  • Reference books will not be issued. Members may consult reference books in the library at any time.
  • The librarian may call for books at any time. If the date falls on a holiday, it will be shifted to the corresponding day the following week.
  • If the date of issue/return is a holiday, it stands postponed to the same weekday of the next week.
  • Late return of books will incur a fine of Rs.1 per day. No books will be issued until the fine is paid.
  • Absence is not a valid excuse for late return of books.
  • Misuse, mishandling, or loss of books will result in payment of the full price by the student responsible.
  • Marking, underlining, or defacing books is strictly prohibited. Fines will be charged for such violations.
  • Members must inspect books when issued. Any damage or marking must be reported immediately to the librarian.
